Biography
Eric Doerfler comes to Penn State from private industry, where as a nurse practitioner he developed two area practices specializing in the blending of traditional and alternative health care methods. He is certified as an Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and is licensed in Pennsylvania. He is also certified in classical homeopathy by the Council for Homeopathic Certification and sees patients on a limited basis in the Greater Harrisburg area. A doctoral student at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, he is developing his dissertation research for a clinical trial of cognitive-behavioral therapy in reducing the side effects from antiretroviral drugs in AIDS patients.
