SCOPE

ESL Specialist and Leadership Certificate Program Orientation

Welcome to the ESL Specialist and Leadership Certificate Program! Many new and exciting changes are being made to the program this year. The online version--SCOPE (Secondary Content Online Preparation for ESL) --is being launched during the Summer of 2008, beginning with EDUC 466. All candidates will be able to take the four original ESL courses online. EDUC 469 will now have three sections: General (elementary), secondary content for English and Social Studies, and secondary content for Mathematics and Science. In addition, a fifth hybrid course will be added in the Fall of 2009, ESL Leadership, which will provide opportunities for formalized field experiences and action research with mentoring and coaching support. Please review the documents listed below for specific information related to the ESL program requirements, processes, and procedures.
